What is the background of this project?

The City of Unley has installed birdbaths along several linear trails and walkways. These trails, along with other pockets of open space, are also planted with local native trees, shrubs and grasses which provide habitat for wildlife, including small native birds.

Given the limited amount of public open space within the City ofUnley(less than 3%), it is important to ensure that Council is using this in a sustainable fashion and to link the public open space with resident’s private open space.

This project aims to provide one of those links in the form of habitat establishment for wildlife.
