Consultation has concluded

The City of Unley has been undertaking a 12 month trial of Pay for Use Parking (parking ticket machines) and 4 hour parking controls in surrounding streets. We now seek feedback on the trial and your experiences with parking management in your street and the area in general.

As outlined in earlier correspondence, Council has strategic objectives of providing equitable parking throughout the city. This trial is an attempt to optimise and balance the parking needs for different users including residents, local businesses, visitors, school communities, and commuters.

The trial commenced in February 2016, and consisted of two Pay for Use Parking trial sites on Bartley Crescent in Wayville, and Railway Terrace South in Goodwood. Following objections from the State Government, parking machines on Railway Terrace South were removed. The trial also consisted of 4 hour parking controls in surrounding streets to help deter the all-day commuter parking from shifting into residential areas.

Since the trial commenced, Council has received significant feedback both in support and in opposition to elements of the trial. As the trial is due to end in early 2017, we seek feedback from the community in order to help determine whether to retain the Pay for Use zones and 4 hour parking controls.

Following the conclusion of this community engagement process, a report containing your feedback information and project relevant information will be presented to Council at the February 2017 Council meeting. Your feedback will help Council to make an informed decision on the future of the trial.

Please note that if you are located within the 4 hour parking trial area, your existing parking permits will remain valid until Council makes a decision on the review of the Pay for Use Parking Trial. Therefore, you will continue to be able use your current parking permits in the time limit parking areas (e.g. 4 hour zones) beyond their expiration date of December 2017.

I look forward to your participation in this survey, which can be accessed below and will be open until 31 January 2017.
