Community Land Management Plans 2024
Community Land Management Plans (CLMPs) are a requirement of the Local Government Act (Section 196) for any Community Land that has been, or will be, developed, modified, or adapted for community benefit and enjoyment, or is subject to a lease or licence agreement.
The City of Unley has drafted a new suite of plans to replace the existing CLMP and invites you to share your feedback on these plans.
The Local Government Act allows for community land with similar purposes to be grouped under one management plan. Based on this framework, the City of Unley has identified five categories of community land, each with its own draft plan:
- Sport and Recreation
- Parks and Gardens
- Linear Parks
- Community Facilities
- Operational & Other Community Land.
Each plan proposes objectives for the management of each land type and includes meaningful performance targets and methods for Council to measure its performance against.
Please read the CLMPs Summary for the key objectives of each plan or follow the links to view each CLMP in full.
Requirements of a Community Land Management Plan
The Act specifies that CLMPs must:
- Identify the land to which it applies.
- State the purpose for which it is held by the Council.
- State the Council’s objectives, policies and proposals for the management of the land.
- State performance targets and how the Council proposes to measure its performance against its objectives and performance targets (as far as is practicable).
- Be consistent with other relevant official plans and policies about conservation, development and use of the land.
