In accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2018(External link), State authorities must develop and implement a DAIP to include strategies to support people with disability in accordance with guidelines that have been developed. In alignment with the State Disability Plan 'Inclusive SA', areas to address include, but are not limited to:
Planning for disability access and inclusion benefits not only people with disability but also the wider community and councils as organisations and employers.
This new Plan will help the City of Unley, its residents and stakeholders enhance our collective understanding of and respond to the health and wellbeing needs and issues facing our community.
What is a DAIP?
A DAIP is a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.
A Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) outlines how Council will make its services, spaces, information and community life more accessible and inclusive.
What happens next?
Your feedback will be used to develop our new Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026-2030, which will be presented to Council in April 2026 for final adoption.
