Consultation has concluded

Background

The City of Unley (Council) proposes to make amendments to the Community Land Management Plan (CLMP) for the land known as Forestville Reserve. The amendments are required to support the proposed grant of a licence to the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport for the construction of portion of the Mike Turtur Bikeway Overpass (MTBO). The MTBO is proposed to be constructed on a portion of Councils owned Forestville Reserve which is classified as Community Land. Further details of the proposal are set out below.

The Council is also undertaking a separate consultation process regarding the proposed licence to be granted to the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport. Details of that consultation can be found at Your Say Unley.

Consultation

The current Forestville Reserve CLMP was adopted in December 2020. Since the current CLMP was adopted the Council has been working with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and the Public Transport Projects Alliance (PTPA) on plans for the construction of a new portion of the Mike Turtur Bikeway which will comprise an Overpass section (the MTBO) traversing the Adelaide-Melbourne, Belair and Seaford railway lines and will be located within Forestville Reserve adjacent to the Glenelg tramline.

Subject to consultation the Council proposes to grant a licence for the construction of the MTBO to the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport which must be supported by the community land management plan for the land being Forestville Reserve.
