What is the purpose of this engagement?
The purpose of this engagement is to seek your comments on the proposed new recreation facilities in Forestville Reserve. This includes the reinstatement of the basketball half-court, outdoor fitness equipment and revegetation.
Community engagement is a critical step in this project and your comments will be taken into consideration to inform Council's decision making on this project.
What is the background of this project?
The State Government is revitalising its rail infrastructure and in October 2012 announced that Goodwood Junction would be upgraded during the 2013 rail closure.
Early works on the Goodwood Junction Rail line has meant that proposed Brown Hill Keswick Creek storm water work in the vicinity of Good wood junction has brought forward including a project to install a culvert at Forestville Reserve
This new culvert will be installed during the period between the end January and mid February 2013
With the works on the new culvert, Council is taking this opportuntiy to plan for an upgrade of Forestville Reserve.
What previous consultation has taken place regarding this project?
Over the last few months DPTI has been informing the community about details of the rail revitalisation project and keeping them up to date with construction activities.
Council conducted a public meeting at the Unley Swimming Centre on 18th December 2012 to advise the community of the proposed creek diversion through Forestville Reserve. At this meeting Council committed to engaging the community on the facilities and layout of the reserve.
Extensive consultation has been undertaken in regard to both the DPTI upgrade of the Goodwood Junction Railline and the diversion of Brown Hill Keswick Creek.
This consultation represents the first stage of a conversation with our community regarding recreational facilities on Forestville Reserve.
What will happen with my feedback?
Your feedback will be used to help develop a final concept plan for the reserve. It is intended to present this plan to the community for their input by the end February 2013, with a final plan being prepared by end March 2013.

Following community consultation, the responses gathered will be compiled in to a summary report and presented to the project team, and will inform recommendations regarding the development of a concept design for the Reserve.
