Vote for your favourite community ideas
This voting phase has now closed. We are thrilled by the amazing response and will keep our community updated.
Your votes will be collated and reviewed by Council’s subject matter experts and Community Panels as part of the Shaping Unley process, with ideas presented to Council for consideration in 2024.
We’re getting our prioritrees straight!
Vote for the ideas that you would most like Council to consider pursuing.
The State Government has set a long-term tree canopy target for the City of Unley of 31% by 2045. Achieving this target requires approximately 14,000 trees to be planted over 26 years in the City of Unley (in addition to those being replaced), and addressing the decline in trees on private property.
With just 3% of open space owned by the City of Unley, and competing priorities for the use of that space, Council must work with private property owners to achieve this long-term goal.
In August and September, we went out to our community with both a survey and an ideas board to understand how we can best support them to retain their existing trees and plant new trees on their properties.
In response we received over 1,000 survey submissions and over 1,000 ideas, likes and comments on our ideas board.
The community ideas were analysed and then workshopped by our Community Panels who shortlisted and then prioritised a final set of ideas for community testing.
How to vote
Vote for your favourite ideas. We want to put our Community Panels' hard work to the test by asking you to review the list of ideas they have prioritised and vote for the ideas you would most like Council to consider pursuing.
There are four voting boards available:
Deliver - Ideas for the City of Unley to consider delivering.
Support - Ideas for the City of Unley to consider supporting the community with.
Partner - Ideas for the City of Unley to consider partnering with other organisations.
Advocate - Ideas for the City of Unley to consider advocating to state government for.
Vote by clicking on the button for your favourite community ideas on each of the four voting boards. There is a limited number of votes you can allocate to each board so we can see where your heart really lies!
Please note, the idea submission phase has closed, but your vote now is crucial in deciding which ideas will bloom.
